Executive Summary

A Senior Financial Executive and Business Owner with more than 30 years experience in business finance, management, asset management and business turn-arounds. Experience focused on starting and growing divisions of large banks and stand alone enterprises. Extensive experience in crisis management, asset workout and resolution, crisis investment, turnaround of business operations and workout real estate projects.

Professional Experience Summary

President and Owner
1999 – Present

Started and invested as principal of several investment funds in numerous medium to large businesses. These companies were majority owned and typically purchased/invested out of bankruptcy or foreclosure sales. Business focus was on traditional business models and ranged from trucking to real estate projects … in various forms of development/entitlement.

Banking
1977 – 1999

Extensive experience in Money Center Banks (Wells Fargo and Security Pacific — Bank of America), concluding at an Executive Vice President rank responsible for multi state Wholesale Banking Operations. Span of control encompassed management of multi Billion dollar loan portfolios including loan approvals in the asset based, commercial, corporate and workout loans areas.

Restructured several anemic business units in the company’s largest commercial middle-market locations, moving these business operations into the company’s growth and relative profit leaders. Managed significant employee retention issues, financial accounting concerns, asset quality questions, marketing, team development, culture transfer issues, customer satisfaction challenges and IT system related problems.

Managed a loan workout group for a Money Center Bank (15+ years experience), formulating corporate and commercial restructuring plans for public and private companies experiencing failed operating leverage or marketing related challenges. Solutions often included converting the bank debt into mezzanine or equity positions to “restart” the business and formulating/executing plans to return the company to profitability. The management of this portfolio also required accessing the capital markets or using the bankruptcy process as part of the resolution tactics.
